dpa/GNA– A bowl purchased a garage sale cost more than 720,000 dollars at a New York auction after it ended up being an antique going back to the Ming dynasty, Sotheby’s stated on Wednesday.
The “exceptional and rare” blue and white “floral” bowl, going back to the Yongle duration of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), was purchased a garage sale in Connecticut in 2015 for 35 dollars, the auction home stated.
The bowl, whose approximated worth prior to the auction was 300,000-500,000 dollars, was cost 721,800 dollars. The seller and purchaser were not called. It was dated to the early 1400s.
Only 6 other bowls of this type are understood, the majority of them in popular museums such as the British Museum in London.
