dpa/GNA– Eight communist rebels were eliminated and 11 high-powered guns were taken after a three-hour weapon fight with soldiers in main Philippines, the armed force reported on Wednesday.

A combined group of military and police officers came across some 40 rebels coming from the New People’s Army (NPA) in a remote location in Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental province at midday Tuesday, the armed force stated in a declaration.

Colonel Michael Samson stated no one passed away on the federal government side. He stated aside from guns, the cannon fodders took dynamites and files from the rebels.

He stated that NPA rebels had actually been a danger to individuals in the countryside hindering peace and advancement.

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the NPA, its military arm, have actually been waging armed dispute with the federal government for more than 50 years.

President Rodrigo Duterte has in current previous cancelled peace talks with the CPP after years of on and off settlements.
