Portugal’s manufacturer rates sped up in May, figures from Statistics Portugal revealed on Friday.
The manufacturer cost index increased 7.8 percent year-on-year in May, following a 5.1-per-cent increase in April.
Excluding the energy group, manufacturer rates increased 4.5 percent annual in May, following 2.6-per-cent development in the previous month.
Prices for energy acquired 4.0 percent each year in May.
Prices for intermediate items grew 3.1 percent and those for financial investment items increased 0.2 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, manufacturer rates increased 1.6 percent in May, following a 1.5-per-cent increase in the previous month.
