Turkey: Ghanaian caught for trying to smuggle weapons to Ghana

Istanbul Police in a declaration released by Turkish pro-government day-to-day Daily Sabahon Monday stated 17 handguns that the suspect prepared to smuggle were seized in an operation on June 17.

Acting on a tipoff that the suspect would send out a plan consisting of handguns through a parcel shipment service in Istanbul’s Fatih residential area, authorities analyzing the shipment service’s branch discovered the unlicensed handguns inside a black bag left by the suspect determined as 37-year-old.

Police robbed a home in the residential area of Şişli and apprehended the suspect.

Istanbul authorities stated the suspect was currently arraigned in Ghana for arms smuggling.
